This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) describes taps, thread plug gages, inserting tools, expanding tools, offset and staking tools, tang break-off tools, extracting tools and thread repair kits.These tools are used for inserting and extracting helical coil wire screw thread inserts as listed in Section 2, into threaded holes in accordance with NASM33537 and MS9071.
