SAE AMS6474 – Revision A – Forgings, Hardenable Steels and Corrosion-Resistant Steels Heat-Treated, Finished-Part Properties Short-Transverse Tensile Strength and Fracture Toughness

This specification establishes requirements for steel forgings of any shape or form from which finished parts are to be made.

Forgings are typically intended to be manufactured from consumable-electrode-vacuum-remelted steel for use in those high- performance parts where control of short-transverse tensile properties or fracture toughness is important.
