SAE AMS4990 – Revision A – Titanium Alloy Sheet, Strip, and Plate, 6Al – 6V – 2Sn, Solution Heat Treated and Aged

This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of sheet, strip, and plate.

This material is typically used for parts requiring high strength-to- weight ratio and stability up to 550 mDF (288 mDC), but usage is not limited to such applications.

Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; SAE ARP 982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
