SAE AMS4909 – Revision J – Titanium Alloy, Sheet, Strip, and Plate 5Al – 2.5Sn, Extra Low Interstitial Annealed

This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of sheet, strip, and plate.

These products have been used typically for parts requiring a combination of weldability, ductility, and good notch-toughness down to -423 mDF (-253 mDC), but usage is not limited to such applications. Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause those products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; SAE ARP 982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
