SAE AMS3170 – Revision G – Thinner, Alcohol-Ester

This specification has been declared “CANCELLED” by the Aerospace Materials Division, SAE, as of February 2008. By this action, this document will remain listed in the Numerical Section of the Index of Aerospace Material Specifications indicating that it has been “CANCELLED”.

This specification covers a blend of alcohols and esters in the form of a liquid.

This thinner has been used typically as thinner the principal portion of the volatile fraction of organic coatings such as AMS 3132, but usage is not limited to such applications.
